Now Then..
I've driven one and thought it was fab. They've redesigned the door catch too. However it could do with the inside release lever on the door grab rail..

Didn't realize it was new. I ordered a new 6145R 2 months ago with the 5 pillar cab. It was a no cost option instead of a full cab length left door . Its windy here and didn't fancy fighting with a big door in the wind.

Although I welcome the option, I'd have sooner seen them put a bit of effort into making the panoramic door work better. Maybe the new catch a improvement but they still haven't paid any attention to how CNH's hinge works to stop the door flapping about.

MF have offered a similar cab for the last ten years. Only a handful have been sold in the UK, mainly because it is the wrong side for a hedgecutter and most people still like a right hand door for some reason. I don't know about this one but the MF version has a wiper and a wider rear window I think, although I have never seen one in the metal [or glass].

The MF one is plastic. All it does it get rid of one pillar. The back window is still the same. They basically got rid of the pillar that isn't in the way.

Fendt have had a 5 pillar cab on all their tractors for a few years now, and they seem to have done extremely well;)
I remember someone from Deere saying 5 years ago that when the 6030 series gets replaced they would offer 5 pillar cabs on the replacement machines (6R) as many farmers like to open a side window when working. They've taken nearly 5 years to do it !! But better late than never(y)

I wonder why they didn't do it properly and learn from the competition?

Is there ANY manufacturer other than Deere where the catch release isn't in the grab handle for example?

Class listened to their customers keeping a window that opens on new arions.

I was only asking. Some of us have to take tractors into feed passages and cubicle sheds designed for Ford 3000s and lovely as panoramic doors are for fieldwork, they aren't ideal if you need to open them whilst tight up against a feed barrier (that applies to CNH as much as JD). As for old school... Until the price went nuclear post Brexit vote, I was very much fancying an Autopowr for next loader tractor.
