Kemppi or R Tech

Thinking about a new inverter arc welder and have narrowed it down to either a Kemppi Minarc 180 or R Tech 175

Has anyone got either? I have the Kemppi Minarcmig Evo 200 and absolutely love it but I have also heard brilliant reports on R Tech which is less than half the price

The one odd thing is that the R Tech is rated as needing an 18A supply when running at 175amp, whereas Kemppi is the more normal 16A

R tech is £189 and Kemppi is £529! Which would you buy? I only have an 16A supply!

There's a loads of choice between those two. How did you narrow it down to them?

Appreciate there’s a lot on the market. Kemppi is a brand I know and gets rave reviews, it has quality leads and clamps but not sure it’s worth spending more than double a budget brand on? I’ll never usethe tig function

R tech is another brand I know which gets great reviews at a budget price with 3 yearwarranty and excellent UK backup. Of all the cheap chinese made machines, it seems to get the best reviews / backup for much the same price as the rest

I currently own a SIP which is ok, the voltage dial isn’t working properly anymore so time to renew, wouldn’t probably rush to buy another..

Fair enough, stick with what you know. Eight year old parweld here but never had any other to try

Well in the end I bought neither and went for an Esab instead. Price point was £200 cheaper than Kemppi, and 20A higher output. Hopefully I’ve made the right purchase! I don’t need the dual voltage but the extra amps will do no harm at all.

I have a R Tech 210Ac/Dc Tig Ideal machine for what i use it for mainly Tig Ally work. Will Eventually upgrade to a Kemppi though. With these machines you pay for Quality. I think Esab is a brilliant machine and a defo step up from R Tech.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
