If you checked I am sure you wiuld find that pretty much all of us that contribute regularly to this thread have passed on our commiserations to the family, and as said before I reckon Gator would have been the first to tell us to crack on

Daft as that looks, I watched a documentary once where a company lifted an entire historic building a few inches, set sliding rails underneath it and then, with masses of grease and hydraulic rams, moved it sideways a few metres before setting it down again.

Quite a lot of done in Chicago I believe ,some buildings were raised 12ft ,to stop flooding

Jacking up a livestock shed

Not sure if it’s been covered here before. I have a 75ftx50ft shed built in the 80’s to house sheep. it’s too low at 8-9ft to the eaves and thinking of extending the stanchions up to 13-14ft to the eaves and converting it to hold cattle. Can this be done without having to strip the whole shed...

Where does it feed from/to?
Is it part of a whole underground network like the oil pipelines that feed the UK airports?

@Hfd Cattle could do with one from the Thatchers factory direct to his house

I’ve dug through plenty of pipelines but never been lucky enough to find a cider one.

How much do you charge for hiring him out?

Not sure if I would be brave enough to do it again…although it’s still standing! I do have another shed that’s a bit on the low side, might dust off the jacks one day!

I’m thinking along the lines that if I do mine I’ll do it the expense way, strip the roof them rise the legs, a lot less to go wrong that way. Mines 60 foot wide, 6 bays long, would be a lot of weight up on jacks

Yes will do although I doubt the welders that came to do it will want to come back, they couldn’t wait to get out of the shed, not sure why…

Free as long as you feed him and wash him down before returning
