Knock off makita tools

Anyone bought any and have they lasted... seen loads about for sale and it’s tempting

sold by the usual Bergen tool selling crowd so can haggle abit aswell

There’s a guy on YouTube called project farm, he’s shown the knock offs aren’t anywhere near, the motors may be the same but the gearboxes etc are all cheapened out. I run knock off Makita batteries as they are identical, just in general Makita tools aren’t too dear, and I’m very happy with all of mine. I’ve a fair few. The same with my Milwaukee stuff. The Makita stuff imported from Japan is the dogs doo dahs though!
