Komet irrigation gun

We tried to start irrigation today but as usual ran into problems. Have all sorted but my komet gun will not turn by itself. It is quite stiff to pull round by hand. I stripped it apart this evening and it appears to turn on an upper and lower nylonplastic circular plate. The lower one was hard to slide round and had a bit of scum stuck to it. Cleaned it all up . Does anyone know if I should grease it or what else to do to make it turn. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A rub of copper grease on the plates wont hurt ,,Im sure Kascad of wright rain guns had a grease nipple fitted ,

Yep used to use grease , oil Wd40 anything to hand . Once the start moveing the nylon becomes self lubricating
