Anyone changed the hydraulic rams on the individual sections on a germinator to mini top links. Holes either end of all mine are all worn through nearly so thought it might be cheaper than new rams.

I don't see why you couldn't physically do it but might not be ideal vis a vis contour following, but if your kand is fairly level you might not notice. 2 points though, seen lots of old shagged germinators but none fitted with your suggestion which says to me might not work and 2 have you priced rams? I doubt non genuine would be that expensive.

Thanks for the advice, maybe not such a good idea then, land is far from level. Any idea where to source non genuine ones from, I've looked at Kramp, spaldings and sparex but cant find any

In Norfolk there is a company called gurney reeve who make Suton branded products.they have an offshoot called Dennis lees I think who make hydraulic rams
