Kramer 4 wheel steer

Anybody had any problems with 4ws on Kramer loaders?
Maybe a weak point. Went to look at one a couple of years ago and playing with the steering modes it lost steering to the rear while test driving it. Never did find out what happened to it as dealer never called back. The newest Kramer 880 we have also lost the 4ws recently, again rear axle has no steering but wheels are straight.
Any ideas?

We have a30.8 which is 4 wheel steer. It is a 40k model and locks out the rear wheels so that it only steers with the front when travelling over 30k.Occasionally it locks the rear wheels when starting up and then releases after moving a few yards and wiggling the steering.
Does the 880 have a similar setup?

Our 880's only do 20k (40k was option but they do little road work). Because of the low max speed it will allow you to drive in 4ws at 20k, although I always switch to 2ws for road work.
There is a rocker switch with a slider on it to lock wheels to 2ws (front axle) or 4ws. Occasionally when you switch from 2ws to 4ws, you do have to wiggle the steering like you say. No amount of wiggling will kick the rear axle in though. Also, where the steering selector switch is, there is a light showing 4ws or 2ws, which ever is selected but neither are lit despite the fact we seem locked in 2ws ?

Sounds like it could be the locking mechanism sticking or perhaps a poor electrical connection -I suspect 2 wheel steer is the failsafe option and hence results in the problem you are having

Yep, I'm thinking electrical. Not had a chance to have a thorough look at it yet but. Got an error code of 003 on the dash the day before but don't know if thats related or not?
