I am trying to remove the triple hydraulic pumps from a KX 151. I have removed hoses and taken out the 4 securing screws. Should it just slide out off the splines ?? or do i need to remove bellhousing ?

Not 100 per cent sure but think there's a coupling inside the bell housing. Hope this helps

just a thought. if the pump is secured to the crank then it still won't come off by removing the bellhousing.
does the pump move at all with the securing bolts removed? is there any evidence it could be bolted to the bellhousing from the inside aswell?

Some of the bigger excavators have a rubber/ nylon coupling as a damper in the bell housing.
they do but what I mean is that if the pump shaft goes through bellhousing and is secured to the coupling which in turn is secured to the crank the you won't be able to move the bellhousing anywhere without doing something to the coupling

Pump moves away from bellhousing by about 1mm and can be rotated. Bellhousing is made up of 2 parts, so i'm gonna split them in the morning and see if the pump and outer bellhousing will pull away from the other part containing the flywheel.

Not sure about the kx151 but the kx121 comes of without the bell housing removed! If you look there may be a hole in th bell housing to get at it bolts that hold on the pump drive!

Not sure from memory! It has a piston pump, I think you ll find the spines are just tight!
Ok, that is what i was thinking, maybe splines burred over. I am at point of making some kind of puller to pull it off. This one has 3 small gear pumps, and i don't think the pumps have been off before.
