Kuhn ploughs

Hydraulic vary width is a beautiful invention, went from ploughing with hydraulic front furr and variwidth to neither and missed both dearly! I'm sure there will now be the people who say you don't need it etc etc...but personally, I just found it handy!

Hydrolic front furrow is an exellent and useful tool. Hydrolic furrows across the plough can be great if your soil types vary and to finish irregular headlands but can be to the detriment of good ploughing as when ploughing really easy ground the temptation to open her up and bulldoze it at top speed can be great.

Used a master 140 ,manual set 5fr ,it was on slats and very heavy ,our land was either blowing sand at one end of the farm or whats called carr land ,,basicly 2 ft of heavy peat over sand ,,catch it right it would turn over a treat ,too dry or wet you couldnt do a thing with it

We've had a180 varimaster and a newer 152 varimaster really good reliable no wear on all sorts of soil types would really recommend them

Just changed ours from a 121multimaster to a 123varimaster shear bolt and what a difference it is. Went for the longer plough which stops the flays throwing soil over the board in front and Itl open out to 20", the wheel has a hydraulic damper which is a lot better than the standard and the new boards for wider tyres.

I bought a new 123 multi master last year. I'm very happy with the plough, only omissions being that its more liable to stick than the old overum, and also it leaves exactly the same little ridge on every other pass as yours does. It boggles me why, I've been right through everything many times trying to resolve it.

Has anyone got any ideas?
