Kv depth wheel damper ram thingy

Anyone had a problem with it? Mine seems to have lost a bit of force so the wheel goes down too quickly and the lock doesn’t have time to get out of the way so the wheel is stuck the wrong way, is there a fix or is it a new ram?

Is there much slack in it? I replaced the brass bushes that go across and reshimmed mine. Well a mechanic did. This made a big difference. Tightened it all up.

I also don't grease it. This slows down drop speed of wheel.

Other top tip spray the pivot point of depth stops with wd40. This seems to make them drop quicker.

Mines behaving at moment but spent many hours tearing my hair out with it. If none of above works I'd just replace it.

I've also tried thicker oils in ram to slow it, resealed it many times.

My Vogel and Noot does the exact same thing and has done for years. Have to time to reverse part of the turn to coincide with turning the plough to hit the sweet spot to make the wheel fall down. No great hassle really, soon get into the routine of it.

Has it had a leak ?

Some are better than others my 09 plough hasn't been much bother the new one that I got last summer is a pain but mostly on 1 side usually just get that sweet spot as your starting to reverse as the plough is swinging past half way so the momentum keeps the wheel forward for a second longer

Prepare yourself for a shock when you enquiry the price of a new damper ram.
I had a similar misfortune in the autumn and am all the poorer for it.
