Any pictures ?hi there all has any one ever had any success match ploughing with kv no 3 boards in light land I did some the other day and the furrow was totally broken and only a slight definition between furrows
That looks like a bamford kv plough from the late 70s same as ploughed with very good in most land, the heavier the better, the headstock is not the original like most of the bamford kvsYes not the clearest but just what I have at the morment but if you zoom in it shows them quite well
Ours was a 77 as well the old headstocks were not strong enough, and most gave up the ghost and had to be replaced.Yes that's the one 1977 from the serial no I am not sure what you mean by the headstock as I have the origanal sales leaflet for the model and it looks the same
Has yours still got that headstock on it, with the threaded bar down the centre and not a like a top link on one side ?That's the same headstock as mine is fitted with
Its totally original then not many 3 furrow ploughs left in that condition, it would have come out of Bamfords factory in Uttoxeter, we are only 9 miles from factory and fetched it ourselves, our neighbours had the the first 4 furrow auto reset they made in about 75 pulled it with MF 12000, seemed a massive set up in its day.If you mean for adjusting the plough sideways on the headstock yes and you have to loosen all the bolts to move it the adjuster was broken so I made some brackets up and fitted a top link externally
Came boxed up and assembled at Uttoxeter, think this was pre common market days and had somting to do with it, Bamfords also sold laverda combines and forage havesters, not long after this kv went independent and had a unit just off M18 junction 1, which is where we fetched our new headstock from in about 79-80.Ok I bought it off a dealer guy from that area 12 months ago it had come out of a auction somewere it still had what was left of the Bamford of sticker on it .I was sure that these ploughs were manufactured by of but then marked by Bamford hence the reason for them being red and not the Bamford yellow
Try Dunns Ploughs from Devon.Ha ok I had wondered about a second hand newer headstock for this but finding one to fit may be a problem I use it for a small amount of match ploughing plus plough commercially for the family I work for in my slack times when they are under pressure
If i remember correctly you have to have first beam section as well as headstock but you can turn it into 4 furrow with spare beam or sell it on. Should be plenty of headstocks about by now.Ha ok I had wondered about a second hand newer headstock for this but finding one to fit may be a problem I use it for a small amount of match ploughing plus plough commercially for the family I work for in my slack times when they are under pressure
