kv plough depth wheel

Depth wheel on kv plough won't reset when I trip plough.

Problem is wheel dropping too fast and not giving depth stop enough time to drop.

We've replaced the bushes on pivot point. Had damper off and checked seals on it.

Any ideas?

There is a very specific amount of oil in the damper. Have tried and failed in the past to fix them. Your dealer/agent might share the amount needed. I say might!! I failed to sort it gave up and bought a new one.
Not sure any of this helps. :scratchhead:

If it's short of oil push the piston tight in then screw the end out of it until you can squirt oil I'm with a syringe etc it basically needs as much as you can get into it as when you screw it back in it will move the piston down to make room. I have to do mine every now and then as I've a wee Mark on the piston works fine after

Should be the long damper then there was a short one years ago. Unless the roll pin is broken through the bracket it's likely oil related unless the plate inside with the hole to let oil from one side to the other but highly unlikely.

I'll try filling it as you suggested. Sounds like not enough oil.

I got new seals and got them fitted along with replacing the rod which had been pitted.
Had to fine tune the amount of oil.
seal kit was over €100
This for a Besson plough
