I have, seemed to stand the furrows up more but still left a decent finish. Depends how deep your ploughing also i guess, and land type if its heavyish itll be a sod i reckon

I don't do it as a rule but if I can't pull it up a wet heavy hill at 16 I'll shut it into 12 and it's fine . Also finishing an endrig if I need a narrow run or 2 it's fine . It looks funny but that's all . I'm a good 9 inch deep all the time but in reality light stuff it would just trail on the board at anything narrower than 16

it will work fine, in a tough turf or throwing up a hill can occasionally give bother at your share may be cutting more than the width of the furrow so there's nothing left for it to hinge over on.

I use 29’s, which are exactly the same but about an inch taller, on both ploughs I have got. Both are Hydraulic vary-width and work as narrow as 12” no trouble at all.
However, I prefer to use them at about 16” wherever I can to get the dirt from the skimmers to land exactly at the bottom of the previous furrow when working at a decent speed.
To get the same skimmer effect, you’d need to be travelling quite slowly.

As above, The 28 is 6” longer in the draught part of the board, it basically keeps going compared to a 28, so keeps rolling, definitely firmer, not very scientific but the first plough I sold with 28’s, customer dropped the old plough off, hooked the new on,both eg85 300’s, he said tgat the drill tractor was 2 gears higher (jd6910 sport) at the time! Will turn a furrow 4 1/2” deep but will need it at 15” wide, have ploughed with 800’s too but needed furrow cutters and speed with them...only negative is a bigger hole to fill ...I think the tech was that the 28 is 8% easier pulling than an 8
