Sorry to bring this thread back, currently got a weeping rotor on an NGH401, does anyone know if the oil seal/cassette comes out from the bottom or if I have to split the bed? Once I took the tine carrier off I thought the seal would just pop out but im having no joy, cheers

Just having exactly the same problem as you were, wondered if you managed to get the joint seal out from the bottom and if so how????‍♂️ Any suggestions gratefully received....

Yeah got it out from the bottom in the end, I was unsure if it would come out from underneath as a few people had told me different horror stories, tried to cut a notch out of it with the dremmel, just about managed to get enough to open it up and pry it loose, once I was 100% sure it could come out from underneath I just went ahead and made a right mess of it, done a few acre since sticking it back together and it seems reet ?? Not really solid advice I know! I think I was just being a bit over cautious

drill two small holes in seal opposite each other, then self tapping screws or wood tec screws are good, wind em in and use two pry/crow bars to leaver and out they pop.

NB carefull not to drill beyond the seal
