We usually just buy lamb finishing cake to mix with our own barley. Just wondering if it would be much cheaper to formulate our own ration.
Most of the lambs are already well fleshed and will be sold by the end of January. We start feeding them in troughs once a day outside then bring them inside, feeding them twice a day. Inside they have good quality silage/haylage.
We have plenty of barley so want to include as much as possible. What else should we use to make up a ration?
We've had problems with urinary calculi before so would use ammonia chloride.
