Lamb knee

Anyone know what causes a lambs knee to give way as it walks, almost as though the ligaments/tendons have gone weak in one knee, any ideas, thanks

We have one here. Assisted birth but no trouble. Three-four weeks old now and not getting better. Doesn’t seem in pain, plays and skips with the others but soon gets tuckered out and lies down.
Cracking lamb in all other ways, I’m a bit worried how he will turn out when he gets big.

I took mine to the vet last year and they wanted to test for vitamin d. But the lambs were outside so seemed v unlikely, I gave it AB in the morning and by the afternoon it's legs legs were fine (when at the vet!), but would continually relapse every day after recovery in the morning after AB and I just couldn't get it sorted. Front legs sort of looked like a cowboy and seemed v wobbly at leg joint almost like would snap!

We had a couple like that with both front legs weak. it was a couple years ago after a tough winter and ewes in poor condition, my eldery neighbour described it as 'Tailors knees' and said he'd seen more of it in the past. Just a deficiency I suppose. If I remember correctly they strengthened over time and couldn't tell them apart from others come weaning.

I'm only relaying what I saw, it was remarkable within hours the knee would be recovered, and then relapse to old state the following day, and repeat with an AB jab. Did for a week every day the same, think the infection got very deep and I couldn't kill it, kept the lamb on as it didn't seem in distress and moved about ok, has large hard knee joints now and bowed legs although no flexing at joint. A friendly scamp, was a bottle lamb, will be a homekill.
