Get some apralan sachet, mix two with 100ml of water, keep In a bottle and give lambs 5 ml each time over there throat. That's what we used to do when lanced sheep, sometimes we would just do them when they were born

He was ok this morning. Think I need to get myself couple more heat lamps as all I have are being used at moment :/
Most important thing is to make sure you see them suck asap after they are born.
We see a little bit of watery mouth towards the end of lambing. I expect it's 'cos the pen hygiene starts to get a bit lax by then:facepalm:

Spectam or Oroject are licensed in lambs and fine as an antibiotic treatment. We really ought to try and move away from routine use as they will ban it at some point, we need to create systems that don't rely on routine antibiotic use.

Betamox LA might work, it does have some activity against E.coli. Pen&Strep is an odd choice, penicillin does nothing, the streptomycin should, but why dose for 125kg? I wouldn't intentionally give one drug I knew wouldn't work. @hillman there is no need for Baytril, your vet is a bad man and babies will die.

Oral hydration VITAL. Calf scour formula usually best value. 50ml/kg 3-4 times per day.

I give them Loxicom as an anti-inflammatory and it seems to really help to make them feel better. It also deals with some of the toxins from the bacteria (but dose accurately as can be hard on the kidneys, so more isn't magically better).
