First time on this winter grazing and 12/15 ewes out of 50 including the ram has got “cuts” like this. Some, where the hoof meets the leg and some on up the leg, little or no scald in the whole group. Any ideas ?

Looks like CODD from those pics - are the lesions breaking out of the coronary band?
From NADIS......
Sheep with CODD show severe lameness typically affecting one claw of one foot with reluctance to bear weight. Initially small ulcers develop at the coronary band (the junction of the hoof wall and haired skin of the pastern) which can become so severe that the whole hoof capsule detaches. The damage caused by CODD can be so severe that horn regrowth is permanently damaged. In the early stages not all affected sheep will be lame so careful examination of purchased animals for signs of CODD is essential.

One or two seems to be breaking from the band, but most seem to be just up the leg with no damage to hoof

Could be orf if it’s more on the leg, rather than the hoof? Have you had orf in your sheep before, o4 could they be naive to it and going onto grazing that maybe had orf infected sheep on previously?

Oxytet spray & a jab of ab’s would be in order for either, once it’s showing like that, imo.

That’s what the old man suggested, he mightn’t have been far away [emoji849] sprayed with Terramycin spray and a jag of alamycin LA 300 so hopefully that cures them! Thanks for the reply’s [emoji106]

Contagious pustular dermatitis virus and Dermatophilus congolensis may act together to produce large granulomatous masses extending 4 to 8 cms proximally from the coronary band often referred to as "strawberry footrot". These lesions bleed profusely when traumatised. Typically, strawberry footrot lesions only affect one leg and are more commonly seen in weaned lambs recently moved onto stubbles. While lesions are severe in individual lambs, the morbidity is generally low. Healing takes many months.

Had a tup lamb with something similar this year, don’t recall seeing it before, definitely above the foot/band, he also came out with orf like lesions on his nose so most likely that, alamycin spray and a LA jag and it soon cleared.

Orf in some replacements here last month looked very similar

I used a spray of mortakill from Connacht Agri as I’m trying to reduce AB usage on farm as much as possible.

Worked very well

Yes, treated a load like that over the last few weeks, it's currently attacking my ewe lambs in the middle of tupping...they've had Footvax as well now This is spoiling their tupping
I don't think it's Codd as its too high up the leg, often around the 2 little hoof horns. Some of the lambs do have orf around the mouths though. Improves after an injection of amoxicillin LA
