Land Rover disco 4 remap

Dads got a D4, has anyone remapped one for better fuel economy...currently returning 27-29mpg. What are the costs and what is the increased mpg...cheers

You need to speak with Gary Wood at Alive Tuning in Louth, every vehicle I have ever owned has been to him he’s a wizard in that world and not a man knows more about Land Rover tuning than him. I usually see about a 5/6 MPG increase and a very healthy improvement in driveability.

Was quoted £290 plus vat for an alive remap from an authorised distributor/dealer/whatever for a disco 3

Surely a 4 would be of similar cost

34 to 36mpg from a Disco4 would be amazing. Not impossible either.

Of topic but two of our three MY16 shogun LWB have had remaps from 180hp standard to 257hp.
Both run quieter and are better on fuel. High 20’s compared to low 20’s
Not sure I’d want I remap a disco 4 in vase engine goes.... not that you’d get much help from land rover without remap

There not easy to map last time I checked it was a ecu out job can’t be done though obd yet (new car makers seem to be making it harder brothers bmw same but was a while ago when I checked) Also heard issues with error codes personally I would leave it, there certainly not slow as they are

Sent my ecu over to Alive about 4 months back. Not sure exactly how much power it has now but it’s definitely improved. Mpg went from around 25 to just shy of 34. But a heavy right foot will see that mpg fall fast.

Nice to know. Might be able to drop ecu off tomorrow as taking plough to York.

It doesn’t need more power, it could pull a house down now...just could do with a bit better mpg
