Laptop battery

Have a Dell Inspiron laptop and the battery needs replacing. Anybody replaced theirs with a non genuine battery (at around half the price of genuine) and found it to be just as good. Are they all likely to come from the same factory in China anyway?

The batteries are only AA's in a plastic pack usually.

Not in the Inspiron 5000 series. Any others I've been in have been 18560 batteries in an external case. This one is very thin and flat and I'll have to open the back cover to change it. I assume there are coin cell batteries inside the casing. It will be investigated after I get a new battery. Just wondering if the non genuine is worth a try? I see Duracell have an equivalent.

Some of those 18650 batteries will be ok and of good quality, worth salvaging. Head torches use them.
