Laptop for Gatekeeper

Hi, looking at getting a laptop to replace our old secondary computer that is still currently running gatekeeper.
The old computer is getting pretty slow and also is still on windows 7 which isn’t being supported by Microsoft anymore.
Looking at a laptop as a don’t live at the same yard as the office and means I can work from my home more and take it out and about with me.
All suggestions welcome as I’m not overly clued up on all the tech when it comes to computers.

Well - how much do you want to spend? My ThinkPad has been mega - lasts 10 plus hours on battery so great for remote working. Mine is T580 - so possibly a bit lumpy for what you need, but was £525 plus vat.

This will be way under £400 + vat

Add to cart and then leave and then they will send you a 10% off voucher if I remember correctly. Loads of other options from £200 plus vat though.

I think up to £500 - £600 pound would be a sensible price range. I looked on the gatekeeper website at their suggested laptop and nearly fell over at the price!! £££[emoji102]

Just looked, they are reselling Dells. The above ThinkPads eclipse that cheapest Dell and are pretty close to the £1325 laptop.

Thanks for the links. They are the sort of thing I’m looking for.
Yeh I figured that they wouldn’t be the cheapest even though they are offering to swap everything over for you.
It can’t be that hard to set it up?

Some advice here ...

That's why I went ThinkPad this time. Has been 10x better than my last Lenovo.
I have the t490s it's more powerful than the Dell but not as nice a screen and flexs due to how thin it is.

Where possible I would sign up to online or use removable storage that should help keep the laptop space free and protected
