Large monitor or led tv

Can a led TV be used as a large monitor? Or how big of a monitor can you buy? Looking for something that 6 - 10 people can gather round and watch or would a projector be a better bet.

As long as it has hdmi or monitor style connectors it can be used. I have 4 in various sheds watching cctv feeds.

They are alright for that sort of use, but crap as a monitor with a PC! I suspect a really HD display would be acceptable. Projectors get better, the more you spend in my experience, and you need a good wall or screen to project onto.

Have you considered connecting the TV wirelessly to the PC if (presumably?) it's only for occasional use.

Sit on the sofa, leave the TV where it is and wirelessly 'cast' to it.
