Largest Fast Food Chains and how they've grown

I never would have guessed the number 1 chain. I always supposed it to be the healthy alternative to the others, You do have to read the menu when ordering I've noticed, but at least the numbers are right in front of you not hidden away on an obscure website somewhere.

Really interesting , Subway is inedible but the franchises are cheap to set up , whereas Maccy Dees are £750k minimum

I go ape if anyone in my family gets anything in Starbucks. Whilst little shop keepers in NY were throwing shoes in to the street to help the survivors of 911 as they ran away, Starbucks were charging firefighters for water

This is the thing - so many newsagents have a franchise so it's not usually a dedicated premises built from scratch purely for the purpose like McD's/KFC etc.

Interesting that in 1972 KFC started out the biggest, and by quite some margin.

It's all scary stuff when you look at the salt, sugar and processed fat served by these chains.
Proper food is expensive so people by empty calories so they can buy their Iphone or Galaxy.

Anyone heard of Sweet Green. Look at the website it tells you how they started. More to the point they are producing healthy food from farmers they support. Maybe @JP1 could put a link or 2 here.
They are a Yank company but something similar could be done here!! I wish I was a few years younger!!
