Laser beam passing through glass

I'm taking some levels for a floor and there is a large window of glass....will the laser be accurate still after passing through the double glazing?

The glass will refract (bend) the beam ever so slightly as it passes through, unless it hits it perfectly square. Double glazing doubly so, probably dim the beam a lot too.

Best to mark the glass where it hits with a Sharpie, move the laser to the other side of the glass and line up the laser with the Sharpie mark. Spot of alcohol hand gel to remove the mark, job sorted.

That's what I was thinking ...a slight bend could give an inaccurate reading....trying to match up floor levels in an extensive. I'll try the mark the glass method and compare

It's a 2m arched window to the floor. It's to come out anyway but not just yet. It's a hardwood frame. It's possible to take the outside bead off and drop a pane of glass out....
