Laser eye surgery

Anyone had it/can recommend it? Wife's considering it but cost is phenomenal so can only afford one eye, but that may be enough. I've searched on here and found a couple of comments in other threads but hoping to get a broader view before committing.

TIA

Not that you want to go with the cheapest, but they will discount about 35% from the first price they quote.
After the initial consultation I kept telling the telesales callers that it was too expensive, and I told them my target price. Took a while, but they kept calling and eventually bit.
Haven't missed glasses or contacts over the 5 years since, and my eyesight is spot on.
Just make sure that the pain killing eye drops are within reach 24/7 for the weeks after.

10 years and still good apart from diabetes related issues. Better than 20/20 even now so it obviously lasts well.

Things have moved on I guess but for me the important part was how they cut the flap on the eye before the laser.

Had lasik just over 3 years ago with optical express. The results are fantastic. BETTER than 20/20.

The day of the procedure it hurt like hell and they are very sales orientated when negotiating price. No regrets though.

What sort of age did you all have it done at? I'm 36 now and not terribly short sighted but do wear glasses all the time. Will it last long before age starts my eyes deteriorating?

Had mine done 25 years ago at Boots. Think it was around 2K
No pain whatsoever. Next day I had perfect vision. No pain, but put the eyedrops in religiously.
One of the best things I ever did:)

Eyes can deteriorate anywhere between 40 and 60.
I was 34, so hoping for at least 10 years. Any more is a bonus.

Been wearing glasses for the past 57 years and now I am starting to develop cataracts in one eye - optician says it will only get worse but he will put me in for lasered lens replacement within a couple of years or sooner, but he suggests both eyes need doing and will get the NHS to do it.

We shall see.........

eye laser surgery is a good thing, especially if you get it from a professional laser center .i live in dubai and
I searched a lot to find the best doctors and hospitals for eye surgery
And I found storat.com . an online social marketplace where you can find hundreds of the best deals and offers on lasik eye surgery
This is the website if anyone needs
https://uae.storat.com/dubai/lasik

Wow, what a relief!! I'd been very sceptical about laser eye surgery until now, but now I've had a glowing recommendation like that I'll get it booked in tomorrow.

Mrs had new lens ,changed her life

Just had eye test . The optician tells me that the very slow growing cataract that I've had for a few years , is getting ready for treatment . He says that he can either book me in at NHS hospital , with an 18 week waiting list for a consultation , just to go on another waiting list for treatment , OR he can book me in for a private consultation (still on the NHS and free ) with a 14 day wait for the actual op !He tells me it's only a 15 minute job . laser keyhole op - local anaesthetic, no stitches in eye , no pain only discomfort early on . I have yet to decide , as I told him , I had my knee done a time back , and if that that gone wrong , I could have had a wooden leg . A glass eye wouldn't be much cop though to see through . OH had a lens replacement a few years back , and TBH , neither she nor I noticed a great deal of improvement . Mind you , at that time she was a bit fragile mentally , so perhaps she couldn't tell anyway .
