LEAF anyone

Just wondered if anyone in here was a member, we do Open Farm Sunday each year but are not members.
Just had an interesting chat with someone who farms in Jersey and it seems some of the biggest most intensive producers are using the LEAF logo but have to do virtually nothing to get it.
I don’t understand how this has happened but it’s not good and giving LEAF a bad name.

I do OFS every year and am a member - I was surprised you could do it & not be part of LEAF. Are you not using their website & resources?

LEAF Marque is a different ball game altogether. The annual inspection makes Red Tractor look tiny. My inspector can do over 2000 acres of crops, stores, machinery etc in 2 hours. A LEAF Marque audit is over a day,

I'm not sure you can use the logo if you're not LEAF Marque. Being a LEAF member gets me no market benefit at all. I did have a brief conversation with ADM about a premium on LEAF Marque oilseed rape markets but I looked at the costs of doing it & the benefits to my bottom line didn't exceed that. Some good questions a business should ask itself in the audit though.
