Leaking spool slices

Im slowly working my way through all the oil leaks on my 1255xl. Its been leaking between the slices circled in the photo. I've replaced the o rings already but it is still leaking. They were a good tight fit and protruded nicely but obviously not enough. Are there any better alternatives to using o rings?
Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks. :)

Out of interest did you use the Case o-rings?.......sometimes these things can be a bit fussy about what goes in there....also I have found on other machines that there's a specific torque for a slice....too loose and they leak, too tight and the spools bind

The O-Rings in a 956 are 16x3mm, the other I can’t remember, but they should be nitrile 90 I think. Did you replace the nylon backers whilst in there? The ones on the 956 are cup shaped and not something I’ve come across before, the slices also wanted a good scrape off as rust was growing between them.

Not sure what specific type of o-ring I used, maybe I need a higher spec one that can handle extra pressure?
No back up ring present should I put them in anyways?

I’d get the dealer to look in the book, you might be lucky and find some sizes in some parts lists somewhere. If you used o rings out of an assortment kit then they may well not be quite the right size.

very important to use the correct rings, too small and they will obviously leak , too large and they will probably cause issues with operation. I would normally torque them up tight, should be fine with correct O ring

They’re not normal backing rings, they have a lip to encapsulate the o ring. My bits over from doing the 956 pictured below. The white ring is for the 20mm rings, didn’t have any spare 16mm ones as they were all stuffed and I reused them if they looked good

Thanks, the backing ring isn't shown on the 1255xl diagram.
So is it item 13 that i need to order to suit the 16x3 o ring?

Would any of you be able to tell me the od of the back up rings I am assuming there slightly bigger than the o rings I have a Marshall tractor with Bosch slices and a very similar type of slice to the ih one but iam having great difficulty in stopping them leaking I can get them from my ih dealer but I don't want to waste there time ordering something that might not fit many thanks

I guess a good place to start would be with a hydraulic parts suppliers who deals with Bosch bits.......probably the slice will have some form of ID, use this to ask for a seal kit.
been searching quite already bosch say seals were discontinued in 2001 so just trying to find an alternitive way

What size o rings are you using?the ones on my machine we’re fatties. I’ll try And hunt the white rings out and have a measure but they aren’t square profile, they have a lip to help encapsulate the o ring
