Had no problems with my np300 (I am now touching wood)
But I prefer my old d40 better ride , more comfortable seats and a better driving position.

Must have good one, mine has been in 3 times since March with regen/turbo issues and going into limp mode.

We had something like that, then they couldn't get rid of an airlock in the coolant. Tried a couple of times, then next thing Mr Nissan rings to say we're bringing you a courtesy truck while we fit a new engine. Call every day thereafter to check everything was okay until it was delivered back.

There must be a panic button somewhere that sets sirens off at HQ.

With regen/DPF issues , do you regularly give it a good run or just constantly run it at under 2000 rpm???
I believe in order to keep the DPF clean it needs a decent run at 2500+ rpm for several minutes or at least tow a decent load.

Post the ad up as that’s dirt cheap.

Are we talking 2.0l or 3.0l?

2.0l wildtrack with colour coded canopy is £41k on the website, although you can add a few thousand in options.
3.0l wildtrack closer to £46k

The second time it did it was after a 300 mile trip at “motor way” speed so plenty of time for it to have done a regen!
I don’t generally drive for fuel so economy so perhaps that’s the problem 😂.

buy an older one, run it a couple of years get rid buy another. my ranger is a 2010 plate, cost 4 grand, done 210,000 miles (had done 189,000 when I bought it about 2 years back). Has given less bother than some much newer much lower milage rangers I know of..

Having said that it needs an MOT friday and i have a feeling the broken wingmirror and large crack in the windscreen might somewhat hinder that low running cost I was on about

Don’t even bother presenting it for MOT if it has a greater than 4cm crack in the wiper’s swept area of the windscreen. It will fail. Probably the same result from a broken or missing door mirror glass. You’ll just be wasting your time. Check for rust, lights, wipers and tyres as well as suspension components including track rod ends and so on.

I will take it to the garage, they will look at it, fix what needs to be fixed then MOT and give me a ring to tell me the damage. Also ought to be serviced while its in. It will need a new windscreen im sure as its about 3 foot long... Has had a chip for months then got in it one morning and it was cracked.

Mine has cracked from the right bottom corner in a six inch loop to about three inches below the wiper swept area [luckily]. This is why I knew the rules, because I checked it over and did the research before taking it to the MOT last Thursday. It passed. I normally take vehicles to my regular mechanic for a pre-test inspection but he is semi-retired and cutting down on work. Took my Qashqai in for MOT on Tuesday and Ranger on Thursday.

Stock answer here.
If you look after your vehicles, keep within the mileage and are capable of handing them back, almost in the condition you got them, lease.
If you get knocks and scratches, nail things to the dash, let the dog run around all over on it and eat the seats, buy. As you will get a massive shock when you hand it back.
I prefer to buy a 3 or 4 year old vehi and Rin it till it drops.

that makes no sense.

1. 1st year of depreciation is big on anything.
2. There are two type of people who buy pick up, the op falls into the livestock category. He’s going to “use” it for what it’s meant for, and will get dirty and dented therefore as mentioned after 3 years will have penalty’s. As you say rough arse, as I say used for its intended use.
3. If you fall into the other category of closet homosexual/wife beater then, yes the pickup will be polished every Sunday and be worth substantial more

Including sheep sha**ers??
