LED Beacons - Radio Interference

Having just splashed out on snazzy LED beacons for our 6499 and 6480, after fitting them we have noticed it interferes with the radio signal when the beacons are turned on. It is mildly irritating!

Has anyone else come across this problem, or any solutions without the obvious go back to the good old rotating bulb.

Thanks in advance

I fitted LED GU10 style bulbs to my kitchen and it knocks out DAB radio signal top of my Welsh hill when they're on :(

Quick googling brings up THIS as a potential solution for the issue. I'll be trying that out too.

I also fitted snazy magnetic LED trailer lamps to an unlit trailer, plugged them in and the turn indicators gave low powered flashes continuously but worked as normal when indicating! Other lights were OK. This was due to vehicle having a canbus wiring system. The fix for that is to put resistors across the turn indicators.

Two LED issues & potential fixes for the price of one! But I'd go with the first in your case (as will I)

It's not the actual LEDs (as in the small bright things which chuck out the light ;)). Rather it's the cheap, nasty and ultimately poorly shielded DC-DC power supplies that are fitted and spew out RF noise like Regan from the Exorcist.

The ferite beads may or may not work, pot luck. I'd put it down to experience, give them to someone you dislike and buy better quality LED lights that don't interfere or simply go back to the reliable rotating type.
