Led lighting

Just had a cattle shed fitted out with 5ft Led lights, they are the dogs do dah's. I was going to use 5ft double fluorescents but my electrician recommended these. Completely sealed and if they give up you replace the whole unit but they are rated for 30,000 + burning hrs so hopefully wont need to replace to many. The level of light from them is far superior to the fluorescents in the shed beside it, its like daylight and they are only 44watt so cheap to run. Cost ways they were ok £25 each.

They sound cheap, a complete fluorescent fitting would be around 30 -40 quid
I've been paying £20 for high frequency twin fluorescent battens in low volume including tubes. The last couple of years have seen LEDs mature - especially in the linear/batten format, but I have still to find a unit that doesn't send my eyes funny or push me towards migraines. I can just about cope with domestic bulbs being LED where I can mix bulbs from different manufacturers to improve colour spread etc. Again, floodlights have improved somewhat, although they still need a bit of planning to minimise glare.
