Lely mower drive belts suppliers??

Has anyone found a good belt for the splendimo mounted mowers at all? SPb 1550 Lp to be exact , Optibelt .
Or has anyone found an alternative ,eg Dunlop or anything they have felt happy with?

I know belts are belts ,but not sure just how critical different makes can be ?

Thanks

I just buy the standard belts from one of the online suppliers for my Splendimo, not had any issues with them. Just be aware that what constitutes a '1550' length belt can vary from supplier to supplier - I ordered a set of nominal 1550 belts and they were too long, you could get them reasonable tight but only by screwing the tensioner out to max from the word go. So had to re-order the next size down, which although harder to get on had far more spare tensioner thread to use as they wore.

Thanks , I span the belts up on ours and then they must have been slipping and then finished last months mowing on some docky old shyte I needed to get rid of ! Had the pulley get hot and bugger the belts in one place  Luckily we had a second hand set that were not at all too bad !!
We had a set of Optibelt SPB 1500 Ld belts that were supplied with the mower as part of the deal. Unfortuately the supplier went bust in the 18 months before we fitted them only to find the problem you described !!! Just too short lol. :sneaky:
Well to be fair , my son tried to fit them and described the symptom you speak of !! Not sure why the rep hadnt checked what was on it before , he probably just looked it up on the web!!
So if anyone wants a new set at a great price make me an offer !!!
Or I might just see if we can fit the shorter ones again

Not sure if its the same on your mower (as the design of the Splendimo changed about 5 or 6 years ago) but on mine you can undo a bolt that holds the end of the threaded bar tensioner, and the tensioner pulley drops lower, and you can get a shorter set of belts on, then put the bolt back in and tension as normal.

Edit: thinking about it, the bolt isn't on the end of the threaded bar, its just one of bolts that holds the tinwork together, but its head stops the tensioner pulley dropping down enough to get a shorter belt on. Temporarily removing it allows the tensioner pulley to drop completely inline with the drive pulleys.

Yes ,theres a silver bar the tensioner sits on with 2 big bolts holding it on . We usually take it off altogether and put it back on when the belts are on the pulleys properly !!
Maybe worth putting the tighter ones on and trying to use something to tighten them ,whilst refitting the tensioner !
I seem to recall he said they nearly fitted but didnt ,but I never helped him! Its about 6 or 7 yrs old I think
