Lic jersey bulls

Just out of interest what annual yield would she do?

Pass. Not milk recording at the moment.

On the old farm we averaged 4500 and had jars in the parlour, she would always have been above average. She's old now but in her prime I wouldn't be at all surprised of she'd done a couple of 6000 litre years.

I've got half a dozen of her daughters milking, They are all crap.

LIC are talking about forcing Irish farmers to sign a contract before they sell any semen to them. Contract will forbid any LIC offspring being sold to A.I. Any word of that in the UK?

Anyways give this gang a shout before you commit http://www.irelandgenetics.co.uk/

I've been told we'll have to sign too. Any bulls from their semen cannot be sold to rival AI companies for 5 years. It's a badly kept secret that the top Irish bulls are out of NZ sires. ICBF have told farmers not to sign it as it would destroy Irish breeding.

I sort of think it's fair enough. It's NZ farmer's intellectual property after all.

I think think LIC shot themselves in the foot with that one. If you look at the sires of sons over the past 3 years Whistler is the only NZ bull used in big numbers

Slippery sloap that one but farmers will sign without much of a whimper like they usually do.

Genetics are world wide these days.
