Lightweight but good strimmer

We've a big Stihl brush cutter here but it's too heavy for me to use for long even with the harness and I hate all the petrol mix/pulling to start business when I just need to cut about 5 nettles!

What would be a good lightweight, easy to start, perhaps cordless strimmer that will manage nettles as well as grass and will hopefully start without yanking at a cord for 5 minutes - are there any good battery ones?

I have a Sthil 300ah battery powerd hedge trimmer and strimmer after some advise from @silverfox as I look after a number of family gardens so it's easy to throw them in the car as I run about not worringing about fuel or fumes - great kit for small, large, very large garden or farm for strimming grass I've shortish periods of time. Mine lasts a good hour of buzzing about and is easy to use.

Another vote for Stihl cordless. Have both strimmer and hedge cutter running off the one battery.
Use the strimner only at speed sufficient to do the job means it will last a good hour

I can recommend the Ego range of 56v cordless tools.Their batteries are well thought out for cooling when working hard or charging.
Have a strimmer ,brushcutter, hedgecutter and polesaw.
Chainsaw and blower on wish list.
The now discontinued Honda cordless range are the same with just a small nib of plastic on the battery needing removing to interchange and were recently on sale for less than £185 with 4Ah battery and fast charger which was good value.Unfortunately now sold out at most dealers but a friend bought one last week after some searching.
I think the Karcher cordless tools are also the same.

a lot of cordless garden gear showing up
I have looked at smaller cordless chain saw for pruning of forests. trees. but battery life a bit short for full days good around home tho. if. got a pair set on charger and stop for a brew etc etc
also buy a lot of skin kits leaf blowers drills. etc etc etc. so can use battery's in work shop etc etc

saw shop I have started to deal with was at a demo they. had 3 different brands on play. the makita come out on top. in there test have not. looked at there weedeaters tho

some of the smaller stuff look at closely I know with. wee saws. some of the chain adjustment is a bit. funny ok sounds cool being tool less. but. can be a tad weak and prone to snapping etc

Have a tiny cordless Bosch strimmer here for the garden. Lasts about 30-45mins on a charge-as much as you’d want to do in one go. Uses disposable plastic blades too so easier than the cord type which I find gets knotted up.

How long do others find batteries allow machine to run for?

Very difficult to rate running time, so much depends on work. My Stihl hedge trimmer on normal thorn hedges goes till I give up. On my little box hedges about 20- 25 minutes due to the power consumed.
A bit like battery cars take it easy do 100 miles plus get the toe down and ou may get through it in ten miles

We need a new cordless drill so is it only really Makita which do the strimmer, chainsaw etc to run on the same drill batteries.

Problem is everything we use is occasional so one set of batteries for everything makes sense.

Any recommendation on brand in this case?
