Lime on silage grass

Spread lime about 6 weeks ago and laid field up. We have had rain on it and the leaf looked clean. But now it’s cut there was a lot of lime dust blowing behind the Tedder and then baler. Will it be ok?

I would toss it out in the rain for a week to get washed off.

It was likely spread on a heavy dew which then dried in the sun and wind I’m guessing.

I try and avoid that if possible, ideally spreading before rain on long grass, but obviously that’s not always possible
