I had to go to Newcastle road tax HQ, they wouldn't do it I nearly came away without it but argued my corner and they went to get a supervisor who issued a limited use tax disc straight away, they had me worried for a while ! saying things like we don't do that anymore etc etc.

Need to send vehicle reg doc to change taxation class of the vehicle, along with application form to local vehicle licensing office should do. They will check on line for insurance but you can send a cert as well. No need for an MOT but vehicle must be roadworthy

you can download forms V10 and V112 and send them along with the V5 with the taxation class changed ,also enclose a covering letter saying that you require it for moving between parcels of land farmed by you and for distances between 10 metres and no more than 1.4 km . If you say that it will only be used 4 times per week it will also come under the distance allowed for MOT exemption which is 6 miles per week .
you can post this to DVLA , Swansea SA99 1DZ and you will get your limited use tax disc back within 2 weeks if all is well
This is the new format if your local dvla office is too far away or has been closed down . I used this 3 weeks ago with success

Is that v5 or v10 you also need to send in log book or did you already say that

I got a reply to email from yesterday.

If your vehicle is already registered and you believe that you qualify for limited use taxation class, you must submit an application by post to:

DVLA
Swansea
SA99 1DZ

Documentation required to tax:

• V5C or V62+V5C/2 or £25
• V10
• Insurance
• Map of the area where the vehicle will be used to clarify that the distance travelled on any single journey will be less than 1.5km.

If DVLA Swansea are satisfied with the application, you will receive a tax disc along with supporting documents within 2 weeks.

Along with a replacement V5C showing the taxation class as Limited Use within 4 weeks.

However, if you have submitted a V62 you will receive an amended V5C within 6 weeks.

yep i know that thanks , but is it road distance or radius from land parcel , as by radius we could go 5 miles before any issues , not sure on road distance at the moment

Gate to gate distance, you can hop a fair distance if your like me and have land all over the place.
