Line one Herefords

Interesting, my understanding is that nearly all Herefords in the US contain quite a bit of Line One genetics, and is is suggested that is why the Hereford is now such a big cow (Herefords have the largest average cow eight of any breed in the US), a friend of mine who has Herefords has used Line one semen has stopped because it made the cows to big and harder to keep condition on, mind he is on a really hard farm. The original Stabilizer composites got their Hereford genetics from the Line Ones.

Didn't they stop using Hereford?

Shame, polled is a must for me.
With increasing levels of polled genetics in most breeds these days I see less and less point in horned cattle.
An animal which can grow and fatten off grass alone under 30 months with exceptional beef and a quiet temperament at all times are my requirements. Whether it has horns or not is immaterial.

To you maybe, but where all else is equal I'll avoid horned genetics.
There are plenty of polled options around these days without compromises having to be made on other traits.
