Yes is the answer going to be doing linseed hopefully later this week.
All but one retractable fingers out and tape up the auger.
Tight concave
Close bottom sieve nearly shut
Drop stationary knifes back
Low chopper speed
Watch for it wrapping around straw chopper rotor at the ends can get a bit exciting when it does and starts smoking.

It's ok when cut at the right time, I only cut the previous two years as a beginner, rotary combine no problem at all, it's the getting into the combine that's the bother, as said previous, remove retractable fingers, the crop will soon tell you it's not fit or over fit via the header auger.

those pressed tine bar bearing supports on the 810 header don't put up much of a fight either......don't be tempted to push on to the next turn if one starts to wrap.....just my 2p....have we really all got to go back to growing the damn stuff?

Defo echo previous reply when you get a nice feed just stick to it don't be tempted to push the stick forward and if it starts to wrap stop and hopefully it will clear if you push on it just gets worse and you will soon get fit going up and down steps.

We were advised to grow it last year but dodged it, is it like wire to cut or is that an exaggeration.
Have cut it a fair few times with nh combines, needs to be really fit, generally say it goes like hell or goes 10 yards and jams up. Good knife and fingers, nice fit crop and sunny day can fly through it.

If it's fit and the sun's out, then an Axial Flow will fly through it.
If it's a bit daggy, and another combine will struggle a bit, then you haven't got a hope, and you'll warm yourself up for half a day unblocking it!!
We had all sorts of trouble with it then borrowed a stripper header brilliant never had a stop don't know if these are still about not seen any about for awhile

Wait till I get our so called adviser, a stripper header ................ :banghead:
No bother cutting it he said, cut it no bother, lovely little flower in the spring.
Our old combine would rollover .......
