Just purchased a liquid fert tank as part of the jigsaw to step into DD. Plan is to dribble some down with the seed.
So, what rate and what product ? Omex are pushing 14-14-0 or 7-20-0 at 100l/ha
OSR and W & S Barley or is it worth it with W Wheat as well ?
Assume not for S Peas & Beans ?

Strictly speaking, the only winter crop you're allowed to put N on is osr. You'd want a more serious justification for N on winter wheat or winter barley from a FACTS qualified advisor. No till into chopped straw wouldn't be a bad reason but I haven't heard of it being recommended yet. Perhaps those doing it are keeping quiet!

30 kg/ha N is fine for a starter dose. Add some phosphate if you can, but not much. It would be better for logistics if the rest of the fertiliser was top dressed plus a high dose next to the seed could be toxic. I have N30 here for all my liquid N so that's what will be going on close to the seed when I go that way too. A 1,000 litre tank will only do 10 ha @ 100 l/ha for a 30 kg dose of N yet weigh 1300 kg for the product plus the weight of the tank and brackets and equipment.
