Liquid N+P & Glyphosate

I have got some Glyphosate (Rodeo) to apply to land coming to spring barley. Does anyone have experience of mixing this with N +P? Will it work? Might save a pass.

Mixing liquid N with glyphosate makes the glyphosate work better.

Had issues in the past. N will be okay but there is an mixing issue with any sort of K and I think even P. I can't rennet what caused us the problem. The whole tank turned to jelly!

I would imagine the glyphosate will react with the calcium present in the phosphate salt. At the very least it'll lock up the glyphosate and render it inactive. It could potentially cause solids to form as well.

Try mixing a little in a bottle and see what happens

Done it with straight N pre OSR drilling. Will have to spray rather than dribble, N + P fertiliser normally high rates also

That's very interesting. I did some in the autumn ahead of OSR and went back again with a second glyphosate as I was unsure if it was working or not

Avoid. Yara and the others say it will work but I promise you it does not. I tried N37 (diluted UAN) with glyphosate before redrilling a game cover. The glyphosate did nothing despite being used at 4 l/ha though this was in 100 l/ha N37 plus 100 l/ha water so a strong mix. N37 has a pH of 5.5.

Be careful, used Yara N35 S7 + Azural 2 years ago, worked well, killed everything. Same mix last summer curdled in the induction hopper.
