Little Snitch

I downloaded a demo copy of Little Snitch software (https://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html) which basically pops up an alert when a web site attempts to access my computer (iMac running High Sierra) or my computer attempts to connect to the internet. It is programmable so, they say, puts control in the owner's hands.

So far, I am pretty impressed and will probably shell out £45 for the full version even though I am a technophobe. But some of the programs/sites attemptig to access my computer have very strange and unrecognisable names which is a bit alarming! For example, why would a web site want to control my computer's fan?

Is anyone on here using it?
