little wrinkle to keep connectors clean

Tired of having to clean hydraulic hose connectors, I found that rubber chair-leg ferrules fit them perfectly. Now every male hose-end on the farm has one living on it. I cut off the rubber plugs hanging from the female connectors back of tractor (yes they were still hanging there) and every time a hose gets connected, the plug and ferrule fit together and into the toolbox. This is the sort of thing:

I am super fussy about dirt contamination in the q/r couplers, best plan I’ve come across is a spray tin of brake cleaner.. everything clean in 2 seconds. Way cheaper than metal damaged with grit..

We put our hydraulic hoses into a zip bag when they come out of the tractor helps to keep them clean
