I've pulled together a really great bunch of speakers for a conference I'm organising to find ways to bring animals back into arable rotations. It's being held at Elveden Village Hall (IP24 3TJ) so pretty central for most of East Anglia.
The plan is for it to be a one-stop shop for anyone considering this as an option - it's open to both arable and livestock farmers as it's a marvellous opportunity to get together, as well as hearing from real experts on a range of subjects including:
It's a real opportunity to come and have all your questions answered. Places are limited, I'm afraid. Oh, and by the way, you get a bacon buttie on arrival and lunch, coffees etc too. The link to the tickets is here and the date is 4th March. Tickets are £25 plus VAT

- what grant aid is available to help you
- what forage to grow - seeding options
- fencing and infrastructure hurdles (no pun intended)
- livestock marketing options
- joint ventures, herbage agreements and other ways to join forces (ie bring livestock onto your farm without the responsibility / worry / hassle
)
- Agronomy including how to get out of forage and back into arable at the end of the ley without a massive weed seed burden
- How the economics stack up
