Livestock box 26ft

Was stood in a Stewart box that was at LAMMA. Can't see what all the fuss is about, average enough, the floor was bowed and popped up and down when you walked on it, ramp angle was quite steep, ramp was made of folded chequer plate, no slurry tank, dividing gates had sharp edges and overall finish was average.

Slightly different but when I was looking at grain trailers a Stewart trailers metal was 1mm thinner than a Marshall trailer. Could definitely tell in the quality difference reckon. I imagine it’s the same with the stock boxes

A firm over here sell Stewart trailers, they had a silage trailer that they took round the shows, had it that long there was rust stains on the side light pods and chimes. I think they sold it eventually, don't know where though. Their name seems to carry a lot of weight in some parts, not round here though.

They send trailers all over the world, maybe not Ireland where every welder comes with a plan how to build a trailer?

I'd probably buy a Broughan if buying new. Have Stewart and Smyth grain/muck bulk trailers at present. Stewart standing up better Smyth like triggers broom.

Just a wild guess but so many trailer manufacturing over your way probably not worth them even bothering to try as you guys seem to support your own well ! Which is good, i have a stewart grain/silage trailer .

Don't know much abought Broughan or Smyth, seem very heavy for my liking, weight does not necessarily mean strength. If you look at the farming videos from around the world the trailers manufactured on this Island North and South feature very heavily compared to the Stewarts and Baileys etc. In my eyes there is nothing much wrong with a Stewart on the whole as no manufacturer is perfect but my point is I don't think they deserve the acclaim they have or the price they charge, there is better out there. Trailers of all types on the whole fall into different price brackets reflecting build quality and finish.

Back in the day everyone had a weeks trailer round here these were replaced with Frasers and in turn these evolved into Marshall before the likes of Kane, Redrock, Herron etc started to get going. As I've said before Paddy likes building stuff.

The Fermanagh men would use Johnson and Donnelly trailers a lot and they are on predominately wet ground. Good light trailers strong enough for what they are. If you look up Alwyn Young on YouTube he uses lightweight trailers.

If that's from an outfit named the same as a pop/rock group they still had it last spring, was drilling corn beside their yard & seen one sitting.

Nothing specific, it's been stripped down shot blasted and completely resprayed. Wouldn't fault the trailer for that though. It's on salty roads in winter. Seems to break leaf springs. But hopefully found a source of stronger ones now.

I should check how old it is! Probably a lot older than I think.
They usually are !! When your watching the years flyby .
