Quick quesiton for all those in the know as my other buildings have centre passages, if you are planning a livestock building with feedbarriers along the outside long edge how deep would you make the building would 60' be too deep?

Are you feeding down one side or both sides of the shed? If you are only feeding down one side you want a narrower shed as you won’t have the feed space for the stock, also a straw blower wouldn’t blow 60foot from one side.

I reckon that a 40 foot wide shed is about right for the laying space/ feed space thing feeding from one side. Therefore 80 foot would be right to feed from both sides.

A spreadabale will easily bed up each side from the feed barriers.

Just completed a home made 35ft x120 with barriers down one side and 5ft overhang. What is the optimal depth a spread a bale operates to? 👍

Our shed is 48ft wide.
Blower gets it to back of shed with ease.
3 15ft gates fit perfectly with room for posts.
Lastly its ideal for 4 rows of cubicles and 2 scrape passages if so desired at a later date.
