first time I have ever seen one in the flesh, impressive !
Saw him too. A real good bull.
Did anyone see the class of 3 blue bulls where the black one came last. Was really glad he did as he was rank awful locomotion far too extreme. Was quite funny that judge was polite about it by just saying it wasn't her type bull.
Saw the advantage feeders for the first time and they seem quite a good idea.

That Sussex bull would be a brother of my old bull, mine was Regent 2nd of Goldstone and he is 7th. Mine was better though ;).
I'm really sorry my camera (or the operator :whistle:) failed on this. I met the Chairman of the Sussex Society and Roger Dunn's stockman Jordan. Lovely people and a very impressive bull

Good photos! That was the first British Blue National Show but it didn't get a very good entry for various reasons..... Winners look to be good, though and you can only beat what was there.
I did double check all the herd prefixes as I went down the lines looking for Newpole!

Glad you like them.

The judge was thorough :)

Jordan is a good stockman and Roger has an on farm butchery that a lot of his stock go through. The farm is in the middle of no-where with no passsing trade but keeps 3 people busy behind the counter.

We're not showing at all this year - not because we're shut down but for a variety of reasons, mainly our youngsters being Autumn borns and our top two heifers in calf ! Picking a judge who currently breeds Blue for the first National Show was not an inspired bit of judgement in our opinion - and she hails from the SW, which again, would have depressed entries from this region.... It would have been wiser to either pick a judge from outside the breed but with good breed knowledge - I can think of several that would have fitted the bill.

Been hard going just recently watching everyone else out these - especially the photos above where I seem to know most of the folk pictured!! But Pip and me are off to Libramont instead for a looksee. All the very best of luck at The Welsh - and have loads of fun !!
