I know its a long shot and I have asked on here before but doe's anyone have any idea of any farms available to rent?
I have gone down all of the usual routes i.e council farms and have tendered and been shortlisted on them but still can't seem to land one. Not looking for a large farm ideally somewhere less than 100 acres. Any advice or leads would be very much appreciated!! Ideally sarcastic replies etc could be kept to yourself! Thanks

Sorry couldn't resist but fair play for trying but hens teeth might be an easier find !

Doubt your quest will be helped by the govs new sustainable 🙄 incentive 🙄 where tenants are being turfed out in favour of growing weeds 🤷

Preferably milk but would consider just stock
so rather than just a council farm/small farm to rent, have you considered putting yourself out for a Joint Venture agreement.
Presumably you can manage a dairy herd.
Get in with the right partner and you'll have a good business of your own, just not the actual tenancy. You can work your way to that in future.

Have spoken with 2 people about joint venture before, 1 guy strung me along for a year when I was his Herd Manager and then decided he couldn't let go of the reins the other didn't go anywhere. Am definitely open to any arrangements now just want a bit more than being a Herd Manager now.

Are you a TFA member? I noticed a fair list of available farms on their website the other day. You need to be prepared to travel to the opportunities as they arise though, rather than staying local at all costs.

Of course, every other TFA member that’s looking for somewhere will be looking at those listed on their website too, so you’ll need a good plan & finances.
