What’s the mileage requirement for having to do it? If I never pull the trailer for reward or over 60mile do I need it?

Problem is though are they still being inforced etc? Dad's had his over 10 years not once has he been asked for it
I’m not sure, that’s why I was asking on here? They may have been abolished due to the authorities not knowing their own laws half the time...

You still have to do one, it’s the law.
I did it when it first came in, like most people that were moving stock at the time. I’ve never once been asked for it, or scribbled the number on a movement document, but there is a copy in the bottom of the glove box somewhere.

My only worry would be whether an insurance company or courtroom might use a lack of it to question your competence.

Finally did my B+E trailer test last week 2 minors, how’s that for competence!

I don't know about enforcement, but since there is a box on the aml for your number, and they know how far away your holdings are, they will know if you are ignoring the law.
I am a massive hypocrite as I have done the test, but laws like these need ignoring. It was bollox. Questions did not make sense.

That's a different thing altogether, there was a test years ago that father and anyone that handled livestock took but now you don't hear of it etc if I'm right it was city and guilds that were the examination board

It was just another money making scam:mad:
I, like @neilo, did it when it first came out.

IIRC, it was multiple choice questions that went something like this...

Who is responsible for the animals in transit? Is it...................

a) The chief Constable of the area you are driving in?
b)The Minister of Transport?
c)The driver of the vehicle?
d)The Archbishop of Canterbury?

I did mine last year cost about £60. We got pulled up by farm assurance over it hence why I had to do it before the next audit
What are the limitations of yours? Reason I ask is I have the cert for livestock haulage, covers me for all of europe & cost €150 I think it was, I wasn't paying.
If yours is the same they have come down in price a lot.
