Don't know If this has been mentioned before, but to me the reason for beef demand going down seems to be simple - see attached article from 2015:

Human population is growing at 1.2% per year.
Livestock population is growing at double that - 2.4% per year.
Yes there is an argument that with increased education on the need for developing countries to promote the intake of protein that consumption per person will increase, but not to the rate of livestock numbers.
Basically the world is becoming saturated with livestock.
I am a part time beef and sheep farmer myself, so I do not agree with the author's efforts to tarnish our industry - I was just using his article to pull some facts and figures.
