Load monitor

The draft and position control on my 7710 Force II is acting strange. Its like there is no position and the linkage goes up and down and almost impossible to use. Is there something Im missing as the Ford 6710 that I used as a kid did not have load monitor. Tia

I'm learning about load monitor too
Restoration of a 7000 only way to learn I guess is do it

Ive a ws manual here I'll have a look for you on the relative parts hopefully shed some light on it for you (y)(y)

Load monitor as I understand it

When load on wheels becomes to high a connector and spring is forced which then in turn is connected to the lift then the arms lift thus releasing the pressure of the implement in the ground etc

I'm probably wrong it's like a draft function but through the transmission as opposed to top link or lower link sensing

Thats about it .I never got on wit load monitor it sounds better than it is. Draught always gave a more even control on ploughing .it went from burrying the Plough to skiming the top on our varying soils

We had load monitor fitted on an equal wheeled county 7000 ( 944 ) never at all impressed gave very poor draft control.
I did however have very good reason to thank load monitor, it was introduced when I was doing my NDA , and in my finals , We were asked to explain with diagrams a draft control system, I had just been a idly reading Power Farmer the day before. In my oral exam after, the examiner complimented my knowledge!

It’s designed to give draft control on trailed or semi mounted implements so won’t give good draft control on a mounted plough. Can be connected to a remote cylinder on a semi mounted plough or trailed disks. Very effective if set up correctly.

Our 76 has the mix lever somewhere in the middle for general work.

Yes your correct I've read up on this system a bit more.

Can you tell me where the implement is connected hydraulically???
Say on a semi mounted implement,
