Isolator switch, have one on my Manitou.

Pull the gater up at the base of the joystick - there's four wires run down it to the solenoids. Wires rub through. Tape cures the problem.

Or the wires have snapped off at the multi plug below the joystick.

Get a new joystick off ebay, £200 odd.

As well as the wiring check above the microswitches can fail as can the PCB they are attached to. A repair is possible if you are handy with a soldering iron - the switches are about £3 each.
